Had a chance in Quincy to discuss the cultural and socioeconomic needs of the community. It was very eye opening.
Had a great meeting in Yakima. We were able to meet with a few people who were already involved in the community and had resources such as free clinics. There were 2 families there that both had issues with newly diagnosed gluten intolerance and Kyle was able to help inform them and share some of his personal experiences living with this issue. Big thanks to the women at Wellness House for hosting us and being involved in our meeting.

This couple came to our meeting in John Day. Like so many of the people we've already met, they were completely behind the idea for fitness support groups. They had already begun to consider getting groups together for hikes and other activities. They expressed concern with the towns options for nutritious food options, and were interested in incorporating more nutrition education in these support groups. With the help of people like them, NHC will be able to help fill the need for fitness support groups in rural areas.

In Burns, this young lady shared her personal struggles with us and was very excited to discuss the possibility of establishing a support group in her community. We're beginning to learn, even with these small turnouts, that these towns have very real needs for health advocacy and a safe gathering environment where individuals are able to hold each other accountable and encourage one another through difficulties.

Two women were kind enough to show up to our program in Prineville at the public library. They seemed on board with the concept of establishing community support groups and gave us valuable feedback regarding various groups and individuals within Prineville that may be able to work alongside NHC.
